M&C General Insurance Co. Ltd., one of the largest Insurance operations in St. Lucia is seeking to recruit an Underwriting Supervisor. The successful candidate will work with an underwriting team to determine potential clients’ risk factors and to establish the terms of coverage.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Oversee the activities of the underwriting department and provide leadership to the team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines.
Develop the underwriting team’s expertise through coaching and training.
Provide management with timely and accurate reports.
Ensure that all policy renewals are administered in keeping with company policy.
Assist with the preparation of quotations.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
A Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma or a bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent qualifications.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in the insurance industry.
Proven leadership experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Applicant must be a strong team player, well organized with strong time management skills, able to work under pressure and to maintain a high level of accuracy and thoroughness, flexible and reliable.
