M&C General Insurance Co. Ltd., one of the largest insurance operations in St. Lucia, seeks a qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Claims Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing complex insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. This role involves evaluating claims and coordinating with clients and stakeholders. The Senior Claims Officer will uphold the company's standards for customer service and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Handle and process complex claims, including investigation, evaluation, and settlement.

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to policyholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

  • Documentation: Ensure all claims are documented accurately and comprehensively.

  • Compliance: Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies in all claims processing activities.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, legal representatives, medical professionals, and other stakeholders to facilitate claims resolution.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on claims activities and outcomes to management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in claims handling.


Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • A Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma OR a Degree in Business Management OR an Associate's Degree in Business as well as a Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
